Let's assume that you do have a few excellent vendor contacts. Lets assume you think you're getting a better price for another product at another vendor rather than buying everything from one single reliable source... here's why you're wrong.

Not taking into account the time you'd be spending shopping around instead of sticking to one place, you have to consider the different pricing levels, amount of paper work, the amount of items you have to get from one place and then wait for their arrival... taking all of that into account - your actually losing money.
