Do you and your
employees have the protection you need to be at your best all summer long?
As the adage goes “a healthy
worker is a happy productive worker” and for outdoor workers who receive five
to 10 times more ultraviolet (UV) radiation exposure yearly (Cancer
Council NSW, 2011)
they’re at a greater risk of developing skin cancer.
A small
investment in sunscreen can have the biggest impact by decreasing over-exposure
of UV rays by at least 93% (American Cancer Society, 2014) . It’s important to
take the preventative measure even though there is no way to block out 100% of
the sun’s UV rays and completely stop chances of melanoma.
You may
think the over-the-counter sunscreen does the job, but you should know it
likely doesn’t have the same protective properties industrial grade sunscreen
does.
