A Season of Giving - The MUST Ministry Way

Please join us as we give thanks by giving back.

This week we are proud to spotlight MUST Ministries located in Marietta, Georgia.  MUST Ministries provides food, housing, toys and more, to the needy and the homeless. For more than 45 years, MUST has established itself as a servant leader caring for those in need in the Marietta, Smyrna and Canton/Cherokee County communities. Founded in 1971 by the Rev. Wayne Williams, MUST Ministries’ initial programs included a grocery bus ministries for the elderly, a youth tutoring program and outreach ministries to "alienated" young people. Since it’s inception, MUST has fulfilled Wayne's vision of connecting people who have a desire to help with those who need help the most. Today, MUST encompasses more than 10,000 volunteers who are continually helping MUST Ministries achieve its goal of being Georgia’s most respected servant-leader.

The prolonged economic recession has forced millions of Americans into poverty, with nearly 15 percent of the population – or roughly 46.7 million people – living below the poverty line in 2014.  According to the U.S. Census Bureau, that figure is up from about 11 percent in 2000.

Team Reliable is so proud and blessed to give back to America’s needy who struggle to live their daily lives below the poverty line. Reliable Paper gladly donated almost half a truck of commercial kitchen products to update and expand their kitchen facility.

We concluded our visit with a large case of napkins, and a calling card when stock runs low. Once again, sharing the gift that keeps giving when the need arises.

“I would like for us to do this all year long!,” said Reliable Paper’s president, Brickford Faucette, photographed in the submission above.  “And, wouldn’t it be GREAT if all of our employees had the opportunity to participate in deliveries as well?”  Yes!  Mr. Faucette.  What a wonderful idea that is!

Please stay tuned as we continue to share our journey into a season of giving with you, our Reliable community.

A Season of Giving - The Extension Recovery Program

Please join us as we give thanks by giving back.
This week we are proud to spotlight The Extension located in Marietta, Georgia.  The Extension provides addiction recovery for the homeless. During The Extension’s fiscal 2016 year – a total of 177 individuals received comprehensive residential treatment for addiction to drugs and/or alcohol; 124 of those we men, while the remaining 53 were women.

In the men’s program, nearly 75% remained in the program for at least 60 days. For those there that long, just over 60% went on to complete the program. Astonishingly, 90% of those who tracked following completion of the program reported that they maintained sobriety, stable housing and employment. Despite a relatively warm winter, The Extension provided emergency shelter to 86 guests on the coldest nights of the year. Those guests received nearly 900 meals.

The Surgeon General’s 2016 report, Facing Addiction in America, states, “Substance misuse and substance use disorders have devastating effects, disrupt the future of too many young people, and all too often, end lives prematurely and tragically. Substance misuse is a major public health challenge and a priority for our nation to address.”

Team Reliable is so proud and blessed to give back to just of few of those in America facing addiction recovery issues. Reliable Paper donated almost half a truck full of commercial kitchen products to update and expand their kitchen facility.   We concluded our visit with a large case of napkins, and a calling card when stock runs low. The gift that keeps giving when the need arises.

‘I wish we could do this every day!” stated Reliable Paper’s president, Brickford Faucette, photographed in the submission above.  As he walked away wearing an enormous smile. His heart obviously full of giving back joy.

Please stay tuned as we continue to share our journey into a season of giving with you, our Reliable community.

Giving Back - Calvary Children's Home

A Season of Giving - Calvary Children's Home

Please join us as we give thanks by giving back.

This week we are proud to spotlight Calvary Children’s Home located in Smyrna, Georgia.  Over 50 years ago, Reverend Ben Turner watched six children, whose parents had died in an automobile accident, being separated and placed in four different homes.   Reverend Turner’s thoughts were, “If children can’t have the love and guidance of parents, they should at least be able to live together as brothers and sisters. If I could build a home large enough, I could keep all the children of one family together.” And thus, the birth of Calvary Children's Home.

There are currently over 400,000 displaced children in America on any given day.  Over 625,000 experience displacement throughout the year. Coming and going in and out of foster care every day.

Team Reliable is so proud and blessed to give back to just of few of America’s children in need. Reliable Paper gladly donated an extensive array of commercial kitchen products to update and expand their kitchen facility.   We concluded our visit with a large case of napkins, and a calling card when stock runs low. The gift that keeps giving when the need arises.

Calvary Children’s Home currently houses 32 displaced children and was excited to receive such large items to aid in food preparation for so many wonderful hungry tummies.  ‘What an honor this is!,’ stated Reliable Paper’s president, Brickford Faucette, photographed in the submission above. Indeed!  How great it feels when we can reach out and lift up children in need of a helping hand.

Please stay tuned as we continue to share our journey into a month of giving with you, our Reliable community.
